Course objectives:

The goal is to provide to students an overview of the regulated industrial and traction drives with DC, asynchronous and synchronous motors, powered by semiconductor converters
|
Requirements on student
|
Getting credit: Active participation in laboratory exercises, submission semester work, pass tests.
Exam: Combined form.

1. Semiconductor converters + DC motor
2. DC drive - power circuit
3. DC drive - speed control
4. Induction motor - basic properties
5. Drive with induction motor and voltage source inverter - power circuit, scalar control
6. Drive with induction motor and voltage source inverter - new methods of control
7. Control of induction motors with rotor winding
8. Synchronous motor, basic characteristics, control option
9. Electronically commutated synchronous motors
10. Microcomputer control of drives
11. Dimensioning motors and inverters
12. DC and AC drives - the current drawn from the network
