Course objectives:
|
The aim of this subject is to check the student's ability to work independently and carry out research activities, which corresponds with his/her study programme and future vocational qualification. Emphasis is placed on a critical selection of methods, developing an adequate theoretical background, a thorough analysis of both theoretical and empirical sources, and on the student's contribution to the problem solving.

Requirements on student
|
Conditions for granting credit: Students are required to: 1. actively participate in consultation sessions, or rather seminar sessions regarding the Bachelor's thesis processing 2. demonstrate knowledge necessary for the Bachelor's thesis processing 3. apply their ability to adequately work with data, sources and literature necessary for the Bachelor' thesis processing 4. submit the Bachelor's thesis to his/her supervisor in the required degree of processing and in the required deadline

Content
|
Within this course, the student first specifies the content of the thesis during consultation session, or rather during seminar sessions, then he/she chooses adequate methods and relevant procedure of the topic processing. The student consults partial outcomes with his/her adviser [supervisor] and presents parts of his/her Bachelor's thesis to him/her. The time schedule of the subject and particular requirements will be provided by the Department, or more precisely, by the student's adviser [supervisor] at the beginning of the semester.

Knowledge - students are expected to possess the following knowledge before the course commences to finish it successfully: |
The course is offered only to the students of the Theory and Philosophy of Communication guaranteed by Department of Philosophy. Academic writing skills, a good knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods and basic knowledge of thesis lay-out style are assumed. |

Knowledge - knowledge resulting from the course: |
After passing this course, students will be able to:
- independently select and solve problems,
- gather important information on the studied issues, analyze and specify it,
- collect empirical data, systematize and process them in a methodologically correct way,
- analyze empirical material applying theoretical background,
- read and evaluate existing literature, choose appropriate theories,
- compose written reports based on assigned points,
- defense their projects.
