Course objectives:
|
This course is taught in English and is intended for doctoral students of the Faculty of Design and Art with an advanced knowledge of the language at the minimum of B2 level. The course develops a wide variety of skills, such as using grammar structures and vocabulary typical of academic style, delivering presentations, writing abstracts, professional CVs, academic papers, as well as reading and understanding authentic and professional texts in English.

Exam
- student language skills are at B2 level of CEFR
- structured CV (1 page)
- 2 formal letters-letter of application for study at a foreign university, letter of application for a job abroad
- presentation materials
- presentation on a topic of a student's professional interest (10 minutes), followed by a discussion.
All the required materials will be submitted in a printed form 2 weeks prior to the exam date at the latest.

-name various ways of expressing the future |
-recognize modal verbs for the present, the past and the future |
-recognize forms of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd type of conditional clauses |
