Course objectives:
|
The aim of the course it to teach students how to communicate effectively in technically oriented working environment and equip them with language competencies at the level B1/B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
|
Requirements on student
|
- The minimum passing score on the final test is 75%.
- Student's portfolio consisting of two homework assignments focused on all four language skills: 1) a three-minute presentation on one of the following topics: an electrical circuit or an electric motor; 2) a compare/contrast essay.
- Students must complete all additional tasks set by the course teacher.
- During the whole semester, attendance is obligatory. Students can be absent from no more than three classes. If students exceed this limit, they must complete 75% of online Hot Potatoes exercises for each of the missed units. Each of these exercises must be completed with a minimum score of 75% by the end of the week following the week when the unit is scheduled. The exercises are part of the AEL4 Moodle course, which can be accessed through a link students will be provided with at the beginning of the semester.
