Course objectives:

The course is designed for students of the Faculty of Education. It prepares students who are not studying English as a field of study for the target level of B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Requirements on student
|
Credit requirements:
a maximum of 4 absences per semester at seminars, a minimum passing score 60% on three assignments, presentation.
The requirements must be completed by the end of the teaching period of the semester.
If for some reason the student cannot complete the requirements within the given range, the student will inform the teacher of the reasons by the end of the second week of class.

3. Unit 2 - TED TALK - How to start a movement. Presentation skills-Beggining and ending. Pr.simple and continuous.
4. Unit 2 - Identifying trends. Relationships. Formal and Informal emails.
5. Unit 3 - TED TALK - An escape from poverty. Presentation skills- Persuasion. Countable and uncountable nouns.
6. Unit 3 - Teaching financial literacy. Everyday conversations. Writing a report.
7. Unit 4 - TED TALK- Don't eat a marshmallow. Present. skills - Body movement, gestures. Past simple+continuous.
8. Unit 4 - Paid to succeed. Prepositional phrases. Writing - Prepositions in messages.
9. Unit 5 - TED TALK-3 ways to lose control of your brand. Present.skills-Using slides. Comparatives and superlatives
10. Unit 5 - The power of the crowd. Asking for opinions. Writing a customer review.
11. Unit 6 - TED TALK - Talk nerdy to me. Present.skills - Engaging with your audience. Verb patterns.
12. Unit 6 - Why we don't listen anymore. Small talk phrases. Writing short emails.
