Course objectives:

The course is designed for students of the Faculty of Education. It prepares students who are not studying English as a field of study for the target level of B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Requirements on student
|
Credit requirements:
a maximum of 4 absences per semester at seminars, a minimum passing score 60% on three assignments, presentation.
The requirements must be completed by the end of the teaching period of the semester.
If for some reason the student cannot complete the requirements within the given range, the student will inform the teacher of the reasons by the end of the second week of class.

4. U2 - Career collocations. Applying for a job. Formal language.
5. U3 - TED TALK - Global population growth. Using props. Present perfect simple and continuous.
6. U3 - Personal development. Market research. Voicemails.
7. U4 - TED TALK - Success is a continuous journey. Repeating key phrases. Narrative tenses.
8. U4 - Success and failure. Making and responding to suggestions. Writing minutes.
9. U5 - TED TALK - Got a meeting? Take a walk. Beginning with a strong statement. Modals and related verbs.
10. U5 - Finance. Young entrepreneurs. Writing questions in emails.
11. U6 - TED TALK - Let's put the "awe" back in "awesome". Being authentic. 0, 1st and 2nd conditionals.
12. U6 - Ethical awareness. Sales talk. A consumer review.
