Course objectives:
|
The aim of the course is to practice basic communication skills and improve understanding of technical texts and technical vocabulary. The course should equip students with language competencies at the level A2/B1 according to the Common European Framework for Languages.

Informace o cvičení
Požadavky na studenta pro získání zápočtu z AST4
1) pravidelná docházka je povinná pro 50% účast na kurzu , při maximálně 2 absencích za semestr získá student 5% bonus započítaný do zápočtového testu.
2) úspěšné absolvování závěrečného testu na 75%. Zápočtový test se obvykle píše ve 12. týdnu výuky, ve zkouškovém období jsou vypsány 2 opravné termíny.
3) splnění zadaných úkolů na Google Classroom.
Požadavky musí být splněny do konce výuky v daném semestru.
Pokud student nemůže z nějakého důvodu splnit požadavky v daném rozsahu, informuje o důvodech vyučujícího do konce druhého týdne výuky.
Poznámka: Pokud student trpí jakoukoliv vývojovou poruchou učení, předloží na začátku semestru aktuální lékařskou zprávu z pedagogicko-psychologické poradny, nebo se objedná na vyšetření v Informačním a poradenském centru, Univerzitní 22, 306 14 Plzeň, telefon: 377 631 350 - 4, paní Hrabačková hrabacko@rek.zcu.cz.

1st Assignment (week 2):
Form: writing, Required length: 150 words
Suggesting solution essay (write 150 words)
Mr John White bought a new laptop at your store a month ago. Unfortunately, he has several problems with it:
overheating,
battery quickly dying,
running slowly,
no Internet connection.
Write a short email in which you:
apologise to Mr White,
ask troubleshooting questions (use Present Perfect),
suggest solutions (use appropriate phrases from Unit 7).
2nd Assignment (week 4)
Form: video, Required length: 2 min
Choose a work process related to your field of study. Describe how the work was done in the past and how it is done now.
Use Past and Present Passive to describe the process. Prepare a picture/drawing that will help you describe the process.
3rd Assignment (DEADLINE week 10)
Form: video, Required length: 4 minutes
Call a hotel reception and make a reservation for your business trip (video - in pairs - 3-4 min)
Caller:
Say you want to book a single room (one week, double bed, balcony, A-C, full board).
Say what the purpose of your visit is.
Ask about the hotel facilities and their prices.
Receptionist:
Listen to the caller and answer all their questions.
Mention when they can check in / check out.
Varování:
Vyskytne-li se v písemné práci plagiát, tj. opíše-li student jakoukoliv část (od jiného studenta nebo z internetu), práce nebude uznána. Student získává 0 bodů.
Videa, která se skládají z několika krátkých videí dohromady, nebudou přijata. Student získává 0 bodů.
Videa se zaměřují na řečové dovednosti, proto studenti nesmí číst.
