Course objectives:
|
This course equips students who are interested in topics related to art with English language competence at A2.2 level according to the Common European Framework for Langauges. The course provides extended vocabulary concerning art and design. It will focus on elementary presentation skills too.

Requirements on student
|
Requirements students are obliged to meet by the end of teaching in the given semester (see the Academic calendar of ZČU), unless specified otherwise in the the course contents, in Moodle and in Google Classroom:
Compulsory attendance - 8 absences max (for both teachers combined)
General English (Sieradzan - Teacher 1) - passmark at least 70 points (10 tests in Google Classroom, each worth 10 points)
Specific English (Hartman - Teacher 2) - creating and presenting three group projects. Students must attend all three presentations of their group to get the credit. See Moodle for more information on group projects.

Students who have a valid international language certificate at the CEFR B2 level or higher may be exempted from the credit requirements for General English Classes (Teacher 1).

- identify adjectives and verbs (and their forms) |
- differentiate between questions and negations in all basic tenses |
- identify the comparative and superlative of adjectives |
- differentiate between commonly used countable and uncountable nouns |
- name past simple and past participle forms of commonly used verbs |
Skills - students are expected to possess the following skills before the course commences to finish it successfully: |
- make sentences in the present, past and present perfect tense |
- make questions in the present simple, past simple and present perfect tense |
- justify the choice of a tense |
- form a short text (e.g. a short narrative) |
