Course objectives:
|
The targeted level is B1/B2 according to the Common European Framework for Languages. The course also focuses on development of vocabulary related to the students´ study field and it develops presentation skills.
|
Requirements on student
|
Requirements students are obliged to meet by the end of teaching in the given semester (see the Academic calendar of ZČU), unless specified otherwise in the the course contents, in Moodle and in Google Classroom:
- Compulsory attendance - 6 absences max (for both teachers combined). A missed class is not regarded an absence as long as the student presents an official note from an authority (such as police, doctor, railway company, etc.) proving the student was not able to attend the class.
- General English (Sieradzan - Teacher 1) - passmark at least 70%
- Specific English (Hartman - Teacher 2) - creating and presenting a semestral project. Student must be present in weeks 4, 8, and 12 in order to get the credit. More information about the project is available on Moodle.

Exam consists of a dialogue with Teacher 2 on the student's semestral project.
Students who have a valid international language certificate at the CEFR B2 level or higher may be exempted from the credit requirements for General English Classes (Teacher 1).
