Course objectives:

The course is designed for students of the Faculty of Education and is a continuation of the UJP/FPE5, FPE6 course. The aim of the course is to equip students who are not studying French as a subject with B2 level competences according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Requirements on student
|
Credit requirements:
- Active participation in the exercises and continuous performance of the assigned tasks.
- Preparation and presentation of project on the assigned topic.
- Summary test.
- Final self-reflection.
Exam requirements:
Oral examination in the form of an interview in French on the topics covered.

Content
|
Week 1
University vocabulary. Educational authorities. Exchange of opinions. Argumentation.
Week 2
School systems in France and selected Francophone countries. Comparison with the Czech Republic. Two pronominal subjects in a sentence. The indicative x the subjunctive. Verb conjugations with prepositions.
Week 3
Erasmus. Mobility programmes. Cultural awareness. Expression of purpose and conditions.
Week 4
Expressing the cause. Indirect speech in the past, temporal sequence.
Week 5
Use of technology in teaching. Past times. Adjective clauses.
Week 6
Midterm test. Use of games and paper in the classroom. Comparison - extension.
Week 7.
Use of audio-visual materials in the classroom. Indefinite pronouns. Nominalisation.
Week 8
Temporal expressions. Stressing sentence elements.
Week 9
Children with special needs. Inclusion. Assessment of pupils. The patient gender - extension. Expression of proportionality.
Week 10
Funding. Wages. Qualifications. Present participle x transitive present x verbal adjective. Past participle and past tense compound.
Week 11.
Teaching methods (CLIL etc.). Expressing the future. Expression of manner.
Week 12.
Test.
Week 13
Summary. Evaluation.

Knowledge - students are expected to possess the following knowledge before the course commences to finish it successfully: |
- identify the forms of passé simple. |
- identify the forms of the past participle. |
- identify the forms of the futur antérieur. |
- identify the forms of compound relatives pronouns. |
- identify the forms of past conditionnel. |
Skills - students are expected to possess the following skills before the course commences to finish it successfully: |
- analyse a text where the passé simple has been used. |
- use forms of the past participle. |
- to implement past participle agreement in both written and oral expression. |
- to express a future agency that takes place before another future agency. |
- use compound relative pronouns. |
- to express regret, remorse, when something might have happened in the past that didn't happen. |
