Course objectives:

The course is designed for students of the Faculty of Education and is a continuation of the UJP/FPE5 course. The aim of the course is to equip students who are not studying French as a subject with B1 level competences according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Requirements on student
|
- active participation in class,
- accomplishing homework tasks assigned throughout the semester,
- midterm test,
- passing final test (75% to pass).
Distance students:
- one tutorial per month,
- midterm test,
- final test (75% to pass).

Passé simple of verbs of the 1st verb class. Expressions of duration.
Week 3
Patient family. Matching past participle.
Week 4
Time expressions. Telling a story in the past.
Week 5
Expressing the future. Futur antérieur. Digital detox.
Week 6
Pronoun adverbs en x y - expansion. Compound pronouns (lequel...).
Week 7
Intermediate test. The position of adjectives in a sentence. Double obbject in a sentence. High tech products.
Week 8
Supertitions.
Week 9
Indefinite pronouns. Superstitions.
Week 10
Adverbs - formation, use, position in a sentence.
Week 11
Nominations. Past conditional method.

Prerequisites

Knowledge - students are expected to possess the following knowledge before the course commences to finish it successfully: |
- identify the forms of the past tense (plus-que-parfait). |
- list the rules for forming conditional sentences. |
- list simple relational pronouns and describe the rules of their use. |
- describe the meaning and use of the main past tenses in French (passé composé, imparfait, plus-que-parfait). |
Skills - students are expected to possess the following skills before the course commences to finish it successfully: |
- to express an agency that happened before another agency past. |
- use conditional sentences at the appropriate level. |
- use the basic past tenses (passé composé, imparfait, plus-que-parfait) at the appropriate level. |
- use simple relational pronouns. |
- to express necessity, duty. |
