Course objectives:
|
The aim of the course is to prepare students for language competence of A2+ level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Requirements on student

Compulsory attendance
accomplishment of homework assignments
2 final tests (75% to pass).

Content
|
Verbs, verb phrases. Reading comprehension, discussion. Further reading, independent reading.
Expressing necessity. Negative clauses. Jobs in technology
Reading comprehension, specialists texts according to students' fields of study, analysis, sources. Writing a glossary of technical terms.
Graphs, tables, explaining technical data. Similarity, declining adjectives - hard paradigm, ordinal numbers, data. Practicing grammar. Words with opposite meaning.
Describing devices and machines, their functions and features.
Reading comprehension - technical texts, instructions and manuals. Describing faults and defects.
Jobs. Expressing mutuality. Conjugation of verbs with a mobile stress.
Dimensions, shapes, materials.
Interrogative and relative pronouns. Using different verbs. Expressing necessity and probability (improbability), actions in past and future tense.
Basic presentation skills.
