This subject introduce the students with enhance theory of two ports, scattering parameters and others important parameters in RF and microwave technic like the stability, gain, noise parameters etc. This parameters representation is also presented in Smith chart. Than the students recognize the basic kinds of the planar lines and their characteristics. From them the simple topologies of the lumped (planar inductors and capacitors) and distribute microwave circuits (directional couplers, power dividers and simple filters) are described. The next face the basic measuring methods like the power, scattering parameters, noise figure and nonlinear parameters are approached to the students. Than may be described the functionality and properties of the active RF and microwave circuits (amplifiers, mixers, frequency multipliers and oscillators. During the exercises the students are introduced with simple microwave filter design, simulation, optimization, realization and measuring.
