Acquaint students with the chemical nature of metallic and non-metallic materials and show the influence of structure on their properties. Explain to students the concept of composite material, matrix, and reinforcement, to acquaint them with the essential representatives of individual types of these materials and production principles.
Emphasis is given to specific properties of composite materials such as surface and mechanical properties, porosity, chemical reactivity, etc.
As part of completing the course, the student will gain a specialised orientation in these materials, including production technology and applications.
