The aim of the course is to introduce European regionalism and regional policies in the European Union. The course draws from the concept of regionalization of European public policies, which will be discussed in the introductory lessons., along with its limits and possibilities for political science research. Consequently, the course will focus on the issue of new regionalism in European context, on the development, practices and current forms of EU regional policies, as well as on regional policies of selected EU member states, and their relation and connection with the EU level. The course will conclude with a discussion of model approaches to regional development based on existing EU and EU member states policies.
