Electromagnetic field theory

Information about seminars

During the semestr, it will be necessary to handle:

1) One semestral project on the system Moodle. This project will deal with magnetic circuits and with inductive couplings.

2) Two seminars will be located in the computer lab. This seminars will deal with modeling using programme Agros2D. It will be necessary to check results on system Moodle and then

create a paper with outputs from the programme.

3) During the semester will be two test to verify elementary knowledge. It is necessary to obtain at least five point (from ten) from each one and at least eleven points together.

1.	Revision of basic problems for stationary electromagnetic. field.
2.	Calculation of potentials for 1D fields.
3.	Analytical solution of simple boundary value problems.
4.	Analytical solution of simple boundary value problems. Continuous and discrete expression of potentials and field vectors.
5.	1. test Entering of the first semestral project.
6.	Computer lab ? solving of 2D boundary value problem
7.	Method of images. Energy of electric a magnetic field. Joule losses calculation.
8.	Inductance calculation. Forces in electric and magnetic field. Entering of the second semestral project.
9.	Forces in electric and magnetic field.
10.	Induced voltage, homopolar and heteropolar induction principle. Poynting vector.
11.	2. test, Skin effect, penetration depth, Entering of the third semestral project.
12.	Computer lab ? solving of 2D nonstationary boundary value problem.
13.	Basic properties of electromagnetic waves. Credit.
