Learning outcomes of the course acquaint students with the design of both classical electric machines and modern electric machines used in automotive and traction. Above all it is about; design solutions of common types of electric machines with regard to details of individual designs, constructional solutions and design of windings, design and implementation of shaft bearings, structural design and design of stator and rotor packets (water cooling, hollow shafts), permanent magnet mounting, machine frame jacket, oil cooling), design of machines with external rotors, construction of machines with axial flow. -3D printing machine design. Furthermore, the student will be acquainted with methods leading to the limitation of parasitic phenomena arising during the operation of an electric machine.
