The fundamental element of each electrical machine - either rotary or transformer - is its winding. Thanks to the winding we are able to transform the electric current into magnetic field, which may be used to drive another device. Or, using the winding, we are able to interact with the magnetic field, which may be further used for generation of electricity. The properties of the winding therefore influence the torque of the machine as well as its induced voltage, so a well designed winding is a key element of a well designed machine. This subject deals with the design of the winding, analysis of its properties and possibilities of its modification.
