The objective of the course is to get acquainted students with an interdisciplinary field of cognitive sciences. Particular attention will be devoted to the following disciplines establishing the current research of the human mind: cognitive psychology, neuroscience and linguistics, and marginally to the philosophy of mind and artificial intelligence. The course assumes that students will be acquainted with classical readings and topics in the philosophy of mind and artificial intelligence. The course targets both standard approaches and current debates in the disciplines. Particular methods, approaches, concepts, and theories of these basic disciplines are being explained. Part of the course will take place in the form of independent supervised work of students. Self-study will be devoted to continuous detailed reading of compulsory literature.
