The aim of the course is to deepen students knowledge of the Western literary canon and to equip them for study of literature in philosophical contexts. On classical literary works of epochs and on selected modern works will be demonstrated the relation of literary works to philosophical problems and questions. The seminar practices the applicaton of poetological and naratological tools and demonstrates the possibilities and limits of a chosen interpretation approach (e.g. phenomenology, stucturalism, new historicism).
