The aim of the course is to acquaint students with influential approaches to literature and with the development of research on it, especially in the 20th century and today. After an initial definition of the historical links between poetics, aesthetics and modern science of literature, the course presents a major literary school of the 20th century, shifts in the interpretation of the relationship between author, work or text and recipient and the influence of postmodern pluralism of approaches and interdisciplinarity. The program is complemented by excursions to genres, style, narratological categories and terminology. In the seminar part, students consolidate the understanding of the lectured material in discussions on literary texts, possibly. also to model analyzes of prose or poetry.
The course is scheduled once per two years.
