The goal of the lecture is to provide the students an overview of the history of historiography since the beginning of the 19th century until present. The emphasis is put on: 1) the characteristics of historiography in particular period of its evolution and its social and cultural significance; 2) the position of historiography among other sciences and its relations towards them; 3) heuristics, critics and technics of the historians work; 4) main personalities, their works and their place in the process of historical science and its evolution. Part of the lessons will be realized in a contact form on the basis of individual work assigned by the lecturer.
