The goal of the course is a presentation of the development and impact of the fundamental problems of economic development of the major regions and countries in the period up to the present. The subject enables deeper understanding of economic development of the world from the beginning of early capitalism to the beginning of the 21st century. In its context students will familiarize with basic tendencies of economic and political development of the Czech lands and Czechoslovakia in the 19th and the 20th centuries. An important part of economic history interpretation is a brief outline of economic thought.
