The course is intended to give students a good insight into designing welding procedure specification (WPS). Attention is also paid to advantages and disadvantages of different clamping systems in welding industry and to usage of EN and ČSN standards as well as work safety standards.
The goal is to show students the advantages and the possibilities of modern laser and electron beam welding methods, show the differences compared to arc methods, demonstrate the impact on the structure, properties, residual stresses, deformations and fatigue behavior of welds. Furthermore, next goal is to familiarize students with a number of other applications of high-energy beams in coating, surface modification (hardening, peening, texturing, etc.) up to applications in additive manufacturing.
