The course aims at increasing level of both the theoretical and practical knowledge of modern Russian in all spheres of its use (both written and oral performance). Lectures familiarize students with the terminology and notions, such as langue and parole, standard modern language, language norm and its variants, orthoepic, lexical, morphological and syntactic norms of nowadays Russian. The analysis of the language norms of various types is based on the active processes in modern Russian. In the seminars, students work with several kinds of dictionaries. They analyze language norms, differentiate among the variants of a norm, they can identify the violation of language norms, consolidate their skills of producing coherent, correctly built monological texts on various topics, and also dialogical texts built according to the communicative intention and situation. Students present this text (10min oral performance) on a selected topic and improve their rhetoric skills. |
