The course develops writing skills required in the academic environment, it introduces students to the basis of academic writing in French. A student becomes familiar with basic document types, structure, scope and formal requirements of the main types of written texts (monographs, conference proceedings, articles in specialist journals, electronic magazines, and essay). Particular attention is paid to the requirements of seminar, bachelor and diploma thesis. Seminars focus on the issues of scientific and publication ethics, on the form of bibliographic citations, references and notes. The basic typographic rules are discussed (existing documents and templates). Methods of assessing academic text are analyzed (reviews, opponent opinions).
