| The course follows from previous knowledge of students concerning linguistics, especially lexicology. The lectures are focused on the relation between semantics and philosophy, logic, psychology, semiology, pragmatics, etc. The lectures lead to the clarification of the terms sign, meaning, sense, conception, context, situation, motivation, etc. The lectures are focused on structural, generative, paradigmatic, syntagmatic, diachronic and synchronic semantics. The seminars are aimed at synchronic analysis of semantic description categories in contemporary French language and they develop the ability of students to use acquired knowledge in productive skills in French (work with the synonyms and with the symbolic character of denomination in the context, searching for translation equivalents, etc.). |
