The course maps historical and social context of the rise of feminism. If focuses on the specificity of particular waves of feminism. The aim of the course is to introduce the basic concepts of feminism and concrete feminist theoretical approaches. It will lay stress on the diversity of theoretical resources of different approaches (Marxist feminism, liberal feminism, radical feminism, postmodern feminism). The course focuses on the diversity of various feminist thinking. It introduces the basic resources and assumptions of feminist critique of society. The course also discuss the problem of engaged science and epistemology and methodology of feminist research. Special attention will be paid to the historical and social context of feminism in Czech Republic.
