The course develops students' abilities in the area of multi-method (mixed-method) research. This dynamically developing methodology has both academic as well as practical applications. The class begins with an overview of contemporary sociological paradigms, their development, their strengths and weaknesses. Then, mixed-mode strategies are illustrated using examples from classical sociological studies. Finally, examples from the most recent research are presented and discussed.
