The course Art History in Pedagogical Reflection II. is based on an interdisciplinary approach and closely follows the course Art History in Pedagogical Reflection I. The course is focused on a defined sphere of art history topics embedded in a cultural history framework, aiming to convey an overview of developments in the sphere of the fine arts in a wider context, mainly that of the cultural history of Europe, with particular accentuation of the conditions prevailing on the territory of what today is the Czech Republic, and in Central Europe. This art history foundation is linked with a corresponding area of history topics where the students are acquainted with the facts of history, again with particular attention to the territories of Central Europe. The students have an opportunity to acquire a fundamental understanding of the relevant art history and, at the same time, of some history and theology data and relationships. The course of study, focused as it is on the above two spheres of topics, is so designed as to provide for maximum synergy and interaction: the intention is to convey a compact reflection of the genesis of fine arts in the context of cultural history of the European society. Special attention is paid to securely mastering a command of the basic concepts and the specialized terminology employed in the profession, of the developmental orientations of the fine arts, of the analytical methods of examining works of art and fine arts techniques, with stress laid on the anticipated didactic and pedagogical reflection of the students' acquired conversancy in their future pedagogy practice. Guided excursions to museums, galleries, and art collections as well as visits of architectural monuments and historic sights are part of the course. |
