| The course follows up with the preceding course Interpretation of Artwork I. Its objective is to familiarize students with the principal thought lines, which from the beginning of the 20th century to the present day influence art-historical approaches to the interpretation of works of art. On the basis of personal experience and in-depth study of selected texts, the course strives to develop students' awareness of the existing plurality of interpretative approaches that they will encounter when interpreting works of art and that will lead them not only to active application of interpretative discourses but also to their independent search for various possible ways of interpretations of artworks. |
