The objective of the course is to familiarise students with the methodology of the current conception of art education. It will explain the didactic reconstruction of art-based contents, and the educational process specifics in the school and afterschool setting. The course will also aim at introducing contemporary possibilities for making art accessible not only at schools, but also in galleries, museums, or for exploiting the potential of art education when working in homes for elderly or at the children's department in a hospital.
The course is designed to contribute to the understanding of the basic field-didactic categories and terminology: educational content, educational objectives, means, methods, techniques, etc. in compliance with the framework educational programmes of the CZ. Students will be able to demonstrate competencies for preparing educational artistic activities or projects designed for various target groups and specific settings. The course aims to develop students' ability to reflect on an educational process with the objective to increase the overall quality of education.
