To introduce the student to media issues in connection with media and audiovisual education. The goal is to teach the student an understanding of the nature and importance of mass media and to develop media literacy, including the implementation of media, audiovisual and film education into the school experience of the discipline. The course will examine the processes of interpretation and analysis of media content, media strategies, forms of manipulation and rhetoric in contemporary visual, audiovisual and interactive media, including print media and photography, television news and advertising, film, interactive media and computer games, the Internet and the risks of social networking and artificial intelligence.
