Course objectives:
|
To introduce the theoretical and methodological foundations of didactics of history as a discipline. Present value, traditional and modern approaches in the methodology of teaching history in secondary schools. Capture the essence of history didactics position in the system of humanities and school subject history in the group of subjects Man and Society.

Requirements on student
|
Knowledge of curriculum documents and sources of information are fundamental. Students are expected to present situation model of history teaching with the use of multimedia. Preparation of the seminar task is obliged. Students must convincingly present the selected educational theme. Teaching practice is a compulsory part of the course requirements. Students are expected to pass successfully the final credit test. Student proves knowledge of specific literature in an acceptable level of 80% of the total number.

Prerequisites

Knowledge - students are expected to possess the following knowledge before the course commences to finish it successfully: |
completed theoretical study focusing on the history of the Masters field. It is absolutely necessary to complete preparation of Czech and general history, in cross-section of all periods of history, as well as knowledge of general didactics and didactics of history for primary schools. |

Learning outcomes

Knowledge - knowledge resulting from the course: |
Students evaluate the development of teaching history in our country, the generally accepted principles of Czech model teaching school history evaluate evaluate current teaching materials and textbooks, select the source, leading to a general knowledge of historical and critical topic for high school students and VG,
points to the current trends in terms of teaching the curriculum reform in secondary schools and lower grades of grammar schools (the VG) assess information sources and basic documents of the reform for the different types of schools. Student analyzes the current teaching materials and textbooks, selects sources leading to popular and critical knowledge of the historical theme for high school students and VG, searches for suitable methods and educational forms for the presentation and fixation of historical happening, suggests the use of interdisciplinary relations in the thematic unit of teaching history in secondary schools and VG, develop guiding principles didactic analysis (cross-cutting issues, key competencies, forms of evaluation and self-evaluation of students), and in specific examples of historical material. |
