Course objectives:
|
The aim of this course is to present students basic problems of massages. Students practically master major massage techniques and procedures in sports and therapeutic massage.

Requirements on student
|
- during the semester to practically master basic massage techniques
- student practically demonstrate for each muscle group the appropriate application of massage procedure
- theoretical knowledge verified by test
|
Content
|
- introductory lesson - organization of the lessons, place, material and hygiene conditions, safety
- massage, history, physiological principles, kinds of massage
- anatomical and physiological conditions for massage
- indication and contraindication of massage
- massage techniques - stroking, kneading, brushing, rhythmic tapping and vibrating
- support massage means
- overview of basic massage techniques in individual countries
- to practically master massage of basic parts (back, neck, upper and lower limbs, chest and abdomen)
- practical fulfillment of credit requirements.

to understand and expain basics of structural and functional problems of the musculoskeletal system |

to show the position of the major muscle groups on the human body |
to orientate him/herself on the human body with use of palpation - in the range of basic anatomy curriculum at the level of the student of sport oriented university |
