Course objectives:
|
The goal of this subject is the giving of the short basic information about the health and diseases of the children´s age to the students of the teaching (as profession), it is to the experts without the medical education. It is the task to describe the mechanisms of the disease origin and to give the short servey or more likely the imagination about the particular diagnosis.The special regard is given to the teacher´s influence, to his/her posibility to influence the harmony of the physical, mental and social development of a child in the context of the health and disease, with the emphasis on the preventive part of a care and a promotion of the healthy life.

Content
|
1. The complex view of the man in the health and disease. The programs of the protection and support of the health. The contemporary classification of diseases.
2. The needs, rights and duties of children. The family: its function, family failure, substitute family care.
3. The contemporary system of the children´s care: the ambulatory primary care, the bed care, the development of the preventive aiming of the pediatrics.
4. The dividing of the children´s age: the features of the particular period. The specification of the younger school age, the secular trend.
5. The chidren´s daily regime: sleeping, food, activity, the children´s hygiene, healthy life manner.
6. The immunity: active creation of antibodies, passive transfer of antibodies, vaccination.
7. The prevention and the early detection of diseases: primary, secondary, tertiary prevention, health support, health education and the health literacy.
8. The children´s examination: the anamnesis (family, personal, the contemporary disease), the objective children´s examination (the evaluation of the whole children´s behaviour, the physical examination, the determination of the working diagnostics).
9. The acute states of the breathlessness: the aspiration, the inflammation in the larynx area, the inflammations of the lower respiratory tracts, the acute asthmatic attack. The children´s care - the teacher´s role.
10. The injuries and the poisoning: polytraumas, head injuries, the injuries of a chest and an abdomen, serious bleeding, heat injury, the children´s poisoning. The children´s care - the teacher´s role.
11. The serious allergic reactions: the spasms in the children´s age. The children´s care - the teacher´s role.
12. The infection diseases of the children´s age: virus hepatitises, exant diseases, borreliosis, parasite illness.
13. The chosen chronic diseases.

- to describe the programs for health protection and support, |
- to define the children needs, rights and duties, |
- to characterize the particular period of the children age with an accent on the early school age, |
- to distinguish between the active and passive immunization, |
- to explain an importance of vaccination, |
- to explain an importance of the child's medical examination, including the collection of anamnestic data, |
- to describe the symptoms and progress of chosen infection diseases, |
- to describe the symptoms and progress of chosen chronic diseases. |

- to give an adequate care to a pupil in the acute state of the breathlessness (asthma) - the teacher's position, |
- to give an adequate care to a pupil with the injury or poisoning - the teacher's position, |
- to give an adequate care to a pupil with the spasm - the teacher's position, |
- to give an adequate care to a pupil with the allergic reaction - the teacher's position. |
