Course objectives:

Students will be familiar with:
theoretical basis of combustion, combustion statics, combustion dynamics; fuels, their important properties, preparation of fuel for combustion; furnace types, burners, milling circuits; air and gas transport in boilers; removal of solid residue after combustion; emissions, dispersion of solid pollutants, removal of harmful gaseous substances, classification of boilers, their function and main parts, heaters, evaporators, superheaters, preheaters; drums, their functions, built-in equipment for steam purification; air heaters, calculation of heat exchangers; boiler performance control, steam temperature control, feed water control, combustion control; operation of steam boilers, boiler starting and shut-down, steam boiler and hotwater boiler losses and efficiency.

2. Fuels, their important properties, preparation of fuel for combustion.
3. Static calculation of fuel combustion, combustion chambers.
