Course objectives:
|
The aim of the course is to provide the students with the basics of scientific work and teach them to use the basic methodological approaches. With regard to this aim, following topics are examined in the course: science - its goals and tasks, methods of science, research goals, hypotheses, choice of method, technology of research, processing scientific material - verification, selection, classification, categorization, analysis, synthesis, report, text, editing, study of political science - substance and goals. Attendance is compulsory in this course.

Requirements on student
|
Students are required to performed assigned tasks according to the syllabus.
Students regularly read assigned texts in Czech and foreign languages and prepare assignments on a regular basis. The assignments are in the form of oral presentations or texts; this will be arranged by mutual agreement between lecturer and students. Assignments will be evaluated by lecturer.
Presentation generally lasts about 10 - 20 minutes, standard length of papers is 10 - 20 standard pages (1800 characters with spaces per page).
