Course objectives:

Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the general overview of the development of ancient historiography from ancient literature to the origins of ancient historiography and its further development in Greek-Roman civilization and the problems of the median historiography, with a strong regard to the future needs of the history teacher at the elementary school. Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the subject is to introduce the leading figures and their work, to familiarize students with selected historiographical texts relevant to this period, to lead to a conscious reading and analytical and critical approach to historiographic production, ability to argue their opinion and to appropriately oppose a different opinion. The partial aim is also the didactic application of historiography.

Main chapters and important personalities from the history of historiography (historiography ancient, medieval, humanistic, baroque, enlightenment).
Didactic application of history of historiography and work with historical text in history teaching at elementary school.
1. Historical text and historical science; philosophy of history and historiography; the nature and role of historiography in relation to society; personality of the historian and personality of the history teacher in relation to the historical text, historiographic genres and school history
2. Reflections of the past in antiquity, the oldest texts reflecting the past in ancient oriental despotisms, the possibilities of didactic application
