Course objectives:
|
To provide students of secondary school teaching with the competences needed for teaching Czech language in concordance with RVP. To direct students in the ability to be oriented in the didactic system of Czech language.

Requirements on student

Oral presentation during the course, seminar paper and credit test.

Content
|
Lectures: 1. Conception of teaching Czech in the present. 2. Textbooks, activity books, handbooks and supplementary materials. 3. Didactic principles and methods of teaching (practical application). 4. Complete linguistic analysis of the text; types of exercises. 5. Methodology of phonetics and orthography. 6. Methodology of morphology. 7. Methodology of syntax. 8. Methodology of lexicology. 9. Methodology of word formation. 10. Learners' assignments, written and oral forms of screening learners' knowledge and skills, evaluation and marking. 11. Connections among school subjects and their parts; regional and current elements in their subject matter. 12. Communicative aspect of teaching Czech. Oral presentations. 13. Motivation, creativity, didactic games and competitions.
Seminars: The programme is based on lectures. The activities will be focused on the practical application of the acquired knowledge through individual students' presentations of their teaching. It will be also analysed and evaluated their real practice at schools. Students are also supposed to master the methodology of the complete linguistic analysis, dictation assessment, creation of exercises, lesson planning, taking notes, lesson arrangement, modern and regional approach to the subject matter, learners´ upbringing and application of games and competitions in teaching.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge - knowledge resulting from the course: |
Students are able to - analyse the program of education concerning its expected outcomes, - evaluate the importance of the communicative approach to teaching Czech, - integrate all three component parts of teaching Czech (linguistic, stylistic and literary) in a natural manner, - choose suitable forms and methods of work with the respect to the specifics of the subject matter and type of lesson, - apply the semantic point of view in teaching, - analyse texts according to the system of criteria of complete linguistic analysis, - understand the correlations among the subject matter of the particular language plans, - individually create a lesson plan. |
