The lectures will provide the students with a basic overview of the archaeology of the Prehistoric Age, the Middle Ages and the Modern Age (for each of the periods, they will receive the basic set reading for self-study). In the seminars, the students will be acquainted with the definition of the field, the characteristics of its sources and its relationship to related disciplines. In addition, using examples, the individual information sources used in specialized work will be characterized, and the principles of working with them will be explained, with emphasis on ethics. The students will learn to understand specialized text and use it critically. They will present the results of their study of specialized literature in the form of oral presentations.
