Course objectives:
|
The objective of the course is to introduce the students to the basic concepts of the discipline of land surveying and cartography (point networks, coordinate systems and map works on the territory of the Czech Republic with a special consideration of the historical development of mapping and its use in search and documentation of archaeological and heritage sites). Great attention is paid to the division of the basic land survey documentation methods (construction-measured, orthogonal and polar) and familiarization with their principle. The main objective is the ability of practical use of the construction-measured method in documentation of archaeological monuments, preserved and torsal architecture. Attention is furthermore paid to modern (digital) possibilities of the documentation of archaeological and heritage objects, with special regard to photogrammetric methods (single-image, stereo-photogrammetry, intersection).
