Course objectives:
|
The aim of the subject is to create an overview of the factors (natural environment and climate changes) that led to the creation of the pastoral and nomadic model of culture in prehistoric times and the Middle Ages. In the introductory lectures, students will be introduced to aspects of the material and spiritual culture of the nomads. As part of other lectures, the change in the situation in Europe in prehistoric times (Late Eneolithic, Early Bronze Age, Iron Age, Roman Age) and the Middle Ages will be outlined.

|
1. Natural environment and climate changes at the end of the Eneolithic. The first pastoral cultures in Central Europe
2. Material culture of shepherds and nomads in the Bronze Age
3. Spiritual culture of shepherds and nomads in the Bronze Age
4. Iron metallurgy in Europe and the migration of nomads from Asia
5. Migration of the Sarmatians.
6. The beginnings of the migration of the nation in Europe.
7. Arrival of Avars in Europe
8. Treasures as an image of the cultural situation from the 7th and 8th centuries in the steppe zone
9. Steppe and forest-steppe in the 8th and 10th centuries.
10. Migration of Turkish tribes.
11. Cumans
12. Nomads in written sources and archaeology.

To summarize ethnogenesis, cultural framework, burial rites and material and spiritual culture in the light of archaeological sources within the monitored areas |
To outline the expression of art of these societies |
