The course is designed for PhD studies at the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts. The course will focus on students' independent work. The teacher stresses specific methodological and theoretical approaches current in his own archaeological community. More details will be given separately for each course.
Requirements on student
A good level of knowledge on presented topics. Special themes to be discussed during the exam are sorted by the lecturer at the beginning of the course. Individual project.

Students have a grasp of archaeological theory and methodology (MA level).

Students understand scientific text in Czech and English and are able to interpret and critically assess its content.
Students know how to utilize electronic information resources.
Students are capable of working systematically and independently.
Students are capable of formally presenting their research and leading scientific discussions.
Learning outcomes
Knowledge - knowledge resulting from the course:
Students have an overview of the contemporary possibilities and issues of the archaeological study of the selected issues and they are able to recognize differences between local and foreign theoretical and methodological approaches.
Skills - skills resulting from the course:
Students are able to apply modern approaches and methods in the research of the archaeological contexts in the Czech Republic.
