Course objectives:
|
To familiarize students with the types, characteristics, applications and dimensioning of basic construction elements with regard to the construction of electric machines, apparatus and other electric devices. To familiarize students with the properties and characteristics of systems connected with electric drives and generators.

Lectures: 1. Construction arrangement of electrical machines 2. Principles and practices of construction design electrical machines 3. Reliability of electrical equipment 4. Connecting parts - properties, uses 5. Mechanical, electrical, and magnetic force acting on the construction elements of electrical equipment 6. Transfer of the force effects, mounting of DC and synchronous machines poles 7. Couplings - overview, properties, uses 8. Bearings - overview, properties, uses 9. Mounting of rotating parts with respect of magnetic field strength 10. The shaft during transient conditions (radial magnetic tension, behavior at short circuit) 11. The strength of the rotor composed of segments, ensuring winding the mechanical and electrodynamic effects 12. Bimetal - electrical applications and design 13. Ventilation of electrical equipment ? fans
Exercise: 1. Introduction, exercise program, prerequisites of exam 2. General procedures for the structural design of electrical machines 3. Strength calculations of stator asynchronous and synchronous machines 4. Connecting parts - calculation of the interference fit 5. Design of rotor magnetic star 6. Forces acting on the poles of the DC machine. Calculation of the mounting pole DC machine 7. Forces acting on the poles of the synchronous machine. Calculation of the mounting poles synchronous machine 8. Basic design of rolling bearings 9. Magnetic bearings, properties, types and use. Design of magnetic bearings 10.
