Course objectives:
The aim of the course is to systematize the students' knowledge of the history of science during the Middle Ages. On the one hand, the students gain an overview of the development of individual scientific disciplines cultivated during the Middle Ages, especially in the so-called quadrivium. On the other hand, they deepen their knowledge in a specific field related to the topic of their dissertation. Students are also familiarized with both the contemporary intellectual, social and cultural context and with overall assessments of the influence of the Middle Ages on the further development of scientific disciplines.
Requirements on student
