Course objectives:

The aim of the course is to introduce students into basics of Greek philosophical terminology. The course focuses both basics of Greek grammar and fundamental Greek philosophical terms. The latter are outlined by means of a reading of selected excerpts of ancient philosophical works.

Requirements on student
|
Pre-exam credit: active participation in the seminar, 2 reports and written tests.
Exam: reclusion work analysis of terminology in chosen part of Greek philosopical text which tests knowledge of Greek philosophical terminology and/or philosophical terminology in Greek

Content
|
Showing grammatical phenomena and specific terminology on selected philosophical texts. Basics of Greek grammar: declension of substantives articles; the verb einai; declension of pronouns; infinitive and indicative mood of active and mediopassive present tense of basic Greek verbs; past tenses of Greek verb; adverbs formation; prepositions; conjugation of adjectives; forming and comparing of adverbs.

najít a ověřit konkrétní faktografickou znalost v sekundární literatuře k řecké filosofii |
najít k českému překladu v originálním řeckém filosofickém textu příslušnou terminologii a ověřit adekvátnost i konzistenci jejího překladu |
s využitím etymologické analýzy pracovat s plným sémantickým polem odborné filosofické terminologie (původem řecké) |
