Course objectives:

Deepening of knowledge of electrostatics, electrokinetics (steady current and related laws), and magnetostatics. Interconnection and mutual relationships of electrostatics and magnetostatics. Deepening of knowledge of variable magnetic field. Interconnection of magnetic and electric phenomena.

The prerequisite high school level knowledge of electricity and magnetism, their basic quantities and principles. The students should have some idea about the interconnection of electric and magnetic phenomena.

Learning outcomes
|
Knowledge - knowledge resulting from the course: |
The students will familiarise with basic notions of electrostatic field, they will understand the following quantities: electric charge, electric field intensity, electric potential, capacity of a capacitor. The students will familiarise with basic notions of electric current in metal conductors, Ohm's and Kirchhoff's rules. The students are familiar with basic notions of electric current conduction in gases, fluids, semiconductors, and vacuum, and with magnetic phenomena in vacuum and in material/substance environment. The students are familiar with basic notions of electromagnetic indution, alternating current, and electromagnetic field.
