Course objectives:
|
The aim of this course is to introduce students to the issues of regional geography of Africa, Australia, Oceania, the Arctic and Antarctica and familiarize them with economic-geographic, political and cultural specifics of particular regions.

Requirements on student
|
Participation in class activities. Regular participation in forum discussions. Seminar essay on defined requirement.
Written test - minimum 70%. Can be repeated twice.
Combined examination.

Content
|
The course consists of these items: Regional Geography of Africa, Australia, Oceania, oceans and Polar Regions.
Model States (states which are typical for the region), resource-rich countries, economically fast-growing countries and countries with specific problems.
Geographic characteristics and utilization of the Polar Regions. Regional overview of the oceans and seas - geographic comparison and economic utilization.
