Course objectives:
|
The aim is to provide students with an overview of the complex and multi-faceted processes in contemporary Russian with regard to the phenomena of stylistic and neological and present language as a dynamic system, which has a very strong functional links to the culture of the language community and closely "cooperates" with her.

Requirements on student

To pass the credit test with a minimum of 70% success rate.

Content
|
Stylistic stratification of language, stylistic shifts in vocabulary, language standart of contemporary Russian, standard and occasionalism, motivation for deviation from the norm, a new concept of functional styles, systemic and usual effects, center and periphery, the basic processes in the Russian vocabulary and semantic changes with neologisms, term of formation and term of losing formation, adoption of words from foreign languages, the language of computer technology, substandard expressions in the language of contemporary Russian press, processes of democratization and liberalization in literary Russian, processes of erosion of traditional phraseology, fundamental processes in the normalization of linguistic phenomena.
